Kipper - Pekachu ( Pekingnese-Chihuahua mix) 10" x 10" acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas
Kipper is a year and a half old Pekachu (Pekingnese-Chihuahua mix). He was brought into the animal emergency clinic where Dr. Suzanne Thomas works.
Here's what Suzanne wrote about Kipper: " He had been run over by a Ford F-150 truck. Then the driver of the truck put it in reverse and ran over him again! (not on purpose, they didn't know what they had hit apparently).. He had 5 broken ribs, pelvic fractures, internal bleeding and a tear in his diaphragm.
His owners paid for the first day in the hospital but when they found out he needed surgery to fix his diaphragm they were out of money. They asked me if there were any options for rescue because he was such a good dog they didn't want to have to put him to sleep.. I looked into his big brown eyes and melted. So they signed him over to me and I paid for his surgery and the next 2 days in the hospital and brought him home.
Normally I find a good home for the few pets a year that I rescue.. But this guy is awesome and fitting right in! He is a great lap warmer/snuggler.. and a great protector (barking when he sees someone outside the house or car. even barking at the snowflakes today!).. very mellow/laid back overall..and good with all the other critters I have around here!"
Here is the photo I worked from :

The eyes and ears are my favorite features.
